3 Simple Ways to Do Blackhead Clearing At Home

A blackhead is a small spot on the face commonly called pores. They are pimples without the skin cover on them. The oil and dirt oxidizes and turns black because there is no skin cover. Most of the blackheads are not visible unless you press closer to your mirror. This means that a person standing close to you can see the blackheads on your face. You have to remove them to save yourself the embarrassment. You can use the cosmetic creams available in the market which guarantees to remove blackheads. If you have a sensitive skin then they can cause side effects also. We advise that you try out some home remedies that will be effective to remove the blackheads and will be safe on your skin. Exfoliate and Microdermabrasion Exfoliating the skin is very easy. The best way to do that is by using milk and nutmeg from your kitchen. For the oily skin, they are most helpful as they help to get rid of the oil. The milk breaks down the older skin cells. When you rinse off you will feel that your skin has become smoother. To get enhanced effects you can use buttermilk in place of the regular one. Honey Pat Down For this one, you have to get a very sticky honey. This makes the process effective. All you have to do is pat honey on the areas of your face where you have the blackheads. As you remove your fingers the sticky honey will pull out the dirt from the pores. The honey will also offer you antibacterial and antioxidant support which would ensure that any remaining would not turn black by oxidizing. You need to continue the process for three minutes before you rinse off your face. Apply Clay Mask To apply this method you have to buy a packet of cosmetic clay. The other key ingredient is water. Instead of plain water, you can add rose water also. But it is not necessary. Make a paste of the clay and water. Apply the mask all over your face or on the areas you have a blackhead. Let the mask dry for a while. To clean the mask, take a fresh cloth and warm water. Wipe off the face by pressing slowly and gently. When you clean out your pores the blackheads will be gone. Try out the simple home remedies that we have mentioned above and get rid of the burden of squeezing and squishing. Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/9667911

Curing Acne By Adopting a Vegan Diet

You've probably heard a lot about the benefits of adopting a vegan diet from countless articles on the internet. Some of these include more energy, weight loss and a lower risk of heart disease and cancer. Apart from these, going vegan will help you discover a whole host of benefits for your skin. By embracing a healthier vegan lifestyle you can get glowing acne-free skin. If you are someone who has struggled with acne, you've probably tried everything- from harsh chemicals, facials, and various skin treatments- to help solve the problem. You may be washing your face regularly, paying for expensive facials and doing everything right, but still have new spots on your face every morning. Impact of your Diet on acne You may not realize that your diet, particularly dairy foods could be the reason behind your constant breakouts. There is a significant link between the foods we ingest and the condition of our skin. Studies have found that there is a link between giving up dairy and improving your skin's health and overall appearance. Milk has an abundance of hormones and can cause insulin spikes. It can also lead to excess sebum oil production and accumulation of dead skin cells which contribute to acne. Breaking certain bad habits can help you get clear skin. A high-fat diet can lead to poor circulation and contribute to acne by clogging pores. Start by cutting down on Junk food and adopting a low-fat diet, and you will soon begin to notice your skin clearing up. Certain carbohydrates can also lead to acne and breakouts.High-glycemic index carbohydrates such as white bread can spike your insulin levels and blood sugar. It is better to opt for low-glycemic carbohydrates like brown rice and whole wheat pasta, which are digested more slowly and keep blood sugar levels steady. High glycemic foods can lead to sharp increases in insulin levels which are known to increase the production of androgen and directly cause acne. Cutting out fats, dairy, and high-glycemic index carbohydrates can have a miraculous effect on your skin. This diet has almost immediate effects and prevents future breakouts. Advantages of Vegan diets A balanced, vegan diet may hold the answer to clear skin. Adopting a plant-based diet has a tremendous impact on health and can help prevent several chronic diseases. Vegans also tend to consume more fruits and vegetables which are high in vitamins, antioxidants, and other nutrients that are essential for skin health. The fiber from produce and whole grains flushes out toxins and gives you a healthy glow. Healthy vegan meals contain vitamin C, which is powerful antioxidant. Antioxidants protect skin from damaging free radicals. They also help prevent wrinkles and age spots, promoting a youthful appearance. Also, seeds and nuts such as walnuts, sunflower seeds, almonds and flax seeds are packed full of Vitamin E. Eating more plants and fiber and reducing your consumption of non-vegan foods leads to a reduced risk of diabetes, hypothyroidism, high blood pressure, heart disease and certain cancers. It can also lead to weight loss and drastically improve the health of your skin. A vegan diet involves cutting out all animal products such as meat, dairy, and eggs. Many of these have been found to carry various strains of pesticides, hormones, and bacteria. Some animal products can also increase inflammation, by increasing insulin levels, which contributes to acne. Also, meats increase the production of acid which increases your body's pH above the ideal level. This excess acid can increase inflammation and lead to more breakouts. A vegan diet is also very low in saturated fat, which is found in abundance in animal products. So increasing your intake of vegan foods such as fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts, and beans and cutting out dairy products and meat can give you healthy skin that glows from within. Conclusion It is important to eat balanced, non-toxic food if you want to cure acne permanently. Eating healthy food on a regular basis will clean out your digestive tract so the toxins will expel themselves naturally instead of going through the skin. If you have been following a vegan lifestyle consistently without seeing results, try giving up wheat and gluten. Many vegan foods contain wheat and gluten which can make your acne worse. Also, certain foods may be labeled as vegan, but this does not mean they are good for you. Check the ingredients carefully for any acne aggravating ingredients. A vegan diet is touted by many as being the healthiest way to eat. Through some trial and error, and by paying attention to the signs your body gives you, acne and breakouts will soon be a distant memory. Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/9555193

The Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask - Does It Really Work? And Why Do People Not Like It?

A new product has been introduced by Neutrogena: the Neutrogena Light Therapy Acne Mask. This particular product uses light therapy to help you control your acne. That's what makes this mask so very promising. Traditionally, light therapy will cost you around $40 for one session with a complete treatment package costing over $1,000. Compare this cost to the cost of the mask at around $40 and you can see why the mask is so appealing. You can use this product over and over again and it won't end up costing you an arm and a leg and whole bunch more acne. Does It Work? So, the big question. Does it really work? Well, we have done some research and have found that this product really does work. Almost everyone that has used this product has found it that it helped them control their acne. It's also a whole lot cheaper than going to a doctor to get the light therapy. And plus you can do it anytime you are home. You just need 10 minutes for the light therapy to work. So Why Do Some People Not Like It? Quite a few people have mentioned that the activator that ships with the product and that powers the mask is only good for 30 uses. After that, you have to purchase another activator. Some other people dislike this aspect because they say it is a waste of resources. Each activator is only good for 30 uses, so over the months, you have to go through quite a few activators. Some other people don't like it because the activator can sometimes be difficult to plug into the mask. If it's not plugged in correctly, the mask won't turn on, but the activator will still count down by 1 use. This is why you'll see lower ratings for the mask from some retailers. Final Result After comparing the good and the bad, the final result is that this is a good product that works. But you do have to buy a monthly activator. Pricewise, it's a lot cheaper than getting therapy elsewhere and you don't have to leave the house. There's a lot more people that are happy with the results and are more than willing to purchase the activator each month. What You Need to Know You won't see results overnight with this product. You'll need to use it for at least 1 week before you notice results. And for best results, you'll need to keep using this product for as long as you have acne. This is not a cure, but a treatment. You can find this mask for sale from various retailers, both in stores and online. Top 5 Medicines Used To Treat Acne

When home remedies do not offer a solution to acne problem, we turn to the science of medicine in helping us how to treat acne or more commonly known as “pimples”. Please bear in mind that the use of medicines to treat acne is only reserved for the moderate to the severe kind, and it is best sought with the advice of your Doctor. There are many medications in the market that are used to treat acne. But there are certain risks that must be noted to prevent any serious complications of its usage. Over-the-counter medicines are one of the most convenient ways in finding a solution to acne problems. These treatments offer various solutions to acne problems and each have their effects and side effects. Still, there is always a potential danger in using these without the advice of your physician. And it is very important to know a thing or two of what these are to avoid any dangerous mishaps in using these medicines, hence the purpose of this article. 1. Benzoyl Peroxide This is considered one of the leading acne treatments; it can be applied as a gel or cream on the affected areas. It is an exfoliant, meaning it peels off the skin thus unclogging the pores from oil plugs and giving the skin a chance to grow a new layer. It also has an anti bacterial effect. The Catch: It causes dryness, redness, itchiness, and scaling (peeling off) of the skin, but the skin will adjust after a week or two of continuous usage. It is advised to discontinue the treatment if severe irritation occurs. 2. Topical Antibiotic A common treatment for acne prescribed by physicians to acne sufferers. This treatment stops the growth of a certain bacteria called Propionibacterium acnes which is often related to acne. This treatment also decreases blackheads, whiteheads, and facial oil build up. The Catch: None. However, please note if the person has a known allergy to topical antibiotics. 3. Oral Antibiotics Oral Antibiotics are considered to be a long term treatment that may last from months to years. These medicines are only taken in small doses over a long period and are considered effective to both moderate to severe acne especially when acne is considered to be inflammatory and has produced scarring. The Catch: Not for children under 12 years old and pregnant women. When used during pregnancy, the treatment may affect the development of the baby’s teeth and will cause a permanent discoloration of the infant’s teeth. The person may also experience sensitivity to light, nausea, and diarrhea. Furthermore, it may also stop the normal genital bacteria thus risking the person to Candidiasis, a fungal infection. 4. Oral Retinoids These are synthetic vitamin A that are used for people who does not respond to conventional treatment for acne. Oral Retinoids are used for the type of acne that has the tendency to scar. The treatment also reduces the size of the sebaceous gland (responsible for oil production) thus decreasing oil production. It also peels off any traces of blackheads and whiteheads present in the face. The Catch: The person may experience Cheilitis (swelling of the lips) and dry skin. It is also dangerous to pregnant women because it may damage the development of the fetus’ nervous system, heart, and may cause abnormalities during the development of the face. 5. Hormone Therapy Estrogen therapy is only used in young women when acne acts up later than usual and is likely to flare up during specific times of the menstrual cycle. This treatment stops oil production and decreases skin oiliness. The treatment process is through following a certain pattern or cyclical regimen that is in sync with the person’s menstrual cycle. The Catch: This treatment is ONLY applicable for women. Estrogen If taken by the male will result to undesirable effects such as breast enlargement and a decrease in body hair. The treatments mentioned above are just a few of the medicines used to treat acne. But please be aware that each of us is a unique person, that each of us has a different reaction to every medication that is used to treat acne. It is advised that you first consult your Doctor or Skin Specialist before you decide to use any of the treatments listed above to avoid any unnecessary or undesired reaction to the treatment regimen. Essential Oils For Younger Looking Skin

There comes a time in life when we notice that the soft plump skin of youth starts to change. As we age, fine lines and wrinkles start to appear. The skin is our largest organ, it protects us from the outside world and helps to maintain our bodies natural temperature. The outer layer of skin, and the part that we see, is called the epidermis. The epidermis is a visual representation of all of the lower layers of skin, called the basel layer as this is where the new moist, plump cells are produced. On their journey through the layers, these plump new cells meet certain threats which strip them of some of their moisture, making then thinner. It takes the plump new skin cells around four months to reach the outer layer of skin, so the way in which we treat our bodies won’t show up in your skin until around four months later. If you eat healthy foods and drink enough water your skin will look more plump and radiant but if you eat unhealthy foods and drink lots of fizzy drinks and/or alcohol, for example, your skin will start to look dull and will age more quickly. Rejuvenating our skin at the base level is the key to a more youthful appearance. Essential oils are fantastic for helping to maintain more youthful skin. The proteins and nutrients that are in essential oils help to keep the cells plump and encourage the regeneration of new cells. Some essential oils work really well for stimulating the circulation which oxygenates the blood, in turn energising the cells enabling the regeneration to take place while other essential oils, such as fennel, contain a hormone like property which encourages firming of the skin. It stands to reason that firstly it is best to start with a healthy diet and with a more holistic interest to health and wellness as using essential oils alone with an unhealthy lifestyle won’t give you the best results. Bellow I have outlined some essential oils that have anti-ageing properties and will help to fight against the onset of wrinkles: Clary-Sage • Neroli • Violet Leaf • Fennel • Rose • Lavender • Galbanum • Thyme • Carrot • Patchouli • Chamomile German • Yarrow • Lemon • Hyssop • Frankincense • Myrrh • Orange • Oregano • Rosemary Geranium • Palma Rose • Vervaine • Lime These essential oils can be used on their own or combinations can be made of two or more to suit you. The essential oils can be used in baths, as a face oil or as a body rub. Skin regenerates at different rates to you’ll need to allow at least 30 days before any improvement can be seen. Wrinkle Inhibitor for people in their 20’s • 3 drops of Chamomile German • 8 drops of Neroli • 5 drops of Lavender • 8 drops of Geranium • 1 drop of Carrot • 5 drops of Fennel Blend these essential oils together and dilute then in 30 ml of almond, apricot kernel or hazelnut oil. Rosehip Oil And Acne Scars - The Wonder Oil Of South America

Rosehip oil is a South American essential oil that's made from crushing the seeds of the Rose. It's been used for many many years there in order to help fade scars and improve the quality of people's skin. If you're looking to fade your acne scars then I don't think that I can suggest a better starting place then Rosehip oil - it's truly brilliant.
It Helps to Repair the Skin
Your skin is actually fine in your body's mind - it couldn't really care less how you look. A scar is a very strong piece of skin and you'll need to help it move to get new, fresh skin to grow back. This is why I always suggest regular exfoliation of the skin to help remove those scars. Rosehip oil contains a number of vitamins and minerals including Vitamin A, Lycopene, Beta-carotene and the Omega Oils 3 and 6. These names probably don't mean much to you, but what they do help with is skin repair and rejuvenation.
Testing has actually been conducted on Rosehip oil for scarring. Researchers have found that it improves the appearance of scarring compared to a dummy cream. Therefore - it works and you can get the benefits of smoother and clearer skin right away!
To start a Rosehip oil program to treat your acne scars simply buy a bottle of Rosehip oil. However you'll probably find that it's not that simple since it's one of the more obscure essential oils around. You may need to see if your local health store has it, or look online.
Using a couple of fingers gently massage the Rosehip oil into your skin. It does feel quite nice. In the beginning at least do so sparingly. You might like to do a patch test - some people have broken out in acne further when using the oil, so do keep a close eye on your skin for the first couple of weeks at least.
The key to using any natural remedy is to simply keep the treatment going. All natural remedies take time, and despite Rosehip's supposedly much faster fading time, the simple fact is that it will still take a few months to see good results. So if you're going the route of Rosehip, make sure that you try it for at least a month before you reassess if it's worth it or not.
I've found that rosehip oil for acne scars is a great way to get good results. You don't have to buy any expensive cream with it 'added', simply get the original, natural stuff itself. There are many other essential oils that you can try as well to improve scarring as well if you find Rosehip oil doesn't do what you want it to do.

Top Ten Acne Treatment Tips

Over the years, many myths have arisen about acne treatment. Top acne treatment tips are slightly different today than tips you may have heard of in the past.
Tip (1): Follow a healthy diet. Acne is associated with overweight, and with stress. Eating a healthy diet will reduce both of these problems, and will contribute to healthy skin.
(2): The second of the top acne treatment tips is to follow a daily acne skin care routine. Clean your face thoroughly in the morning and at night before you go to bed. This is the same regimen followed by anyone seeking to take good care of their skin. Use good anti-bacterial soap, and get a product that is natural that will promote healing and prevent future breakouts.
(3): Cut down on caffeine. Caffeine will stimulate the oil glands in your skin. The less stimulated these glands are, the less oily your skin will be, which will help your acne treatment.
(4): Use natural, safe acne treatment products. Some dermatologists recommend gentle, natural products that will heal your skin including aloe, tea tree oil, lavender and Chamomile.

(5): Keep your hair clean and off your face. It is one of the easiest acne treatments to follow.
(6): If you smoke, stop smoking. Smoke contains many different toxic elements that will collect in your hair and skin, contributing to or worsening your condition.
(7): Get plenty of exercise. Exercise improves your heart and lung health, and will speed up the natural cycle of your skin's healing process.
(8): Drink plenty of water. Dehydration contributes to skin problems. Oil and debris can collect on skin even when it is dry as a result of dehydration, creating a double problem and increasing acne. Keeping hydrated will help your skin keep clear, clean and fresh.
(9): Number nine of top acne treatment tips is to use skin care products that are safe, gentle and natural. Some chemical products are too harsh for most people's skin. Choose products that contain natural vitamins and minerals that will heal your skin and reduce acne.
(10): The last top tip is to reduce stress and get plenty of rest. You have probably heard of a hormone called cortisol that the body produces in excess when it is under stress. Cortisol can lead to weight gain and to acne, so getting plenty of rest and exercise and eliminating stressful things from your life can also reduce your chances
of being infected with acne.

How Long Does It Take To Remove Acne Scars With Lemon Juice?

Lemon juice is a great way at reducing the appearance of acne scarring. It's actually the first remedy that pops in the Google suggest when you type in something relating to acne or scarring! So it's popular! What lemon juice is good for is lightening (bleaching) the skin. Therefore if you've got bumpy scars - don't bother. Lemon juice despite what you might have heard is not a good exfoliator, and it's a much better bleach. But if your scarring is especially red or dark, then lemon juice is the answer.

How long does it take to remove acne scars with lemon juice? It depends. I can't tell you for certain. It could be as little as a couple of days, and it might take a few months. It's probably somewhere between those two figures. It depends on a lot of different things - your skin type for example. If you only apply the lemon juice every now and again, then that will have an impact as well. You can deal with the second one - just be consistent with your treatments. The first one (your skin type) will have a bigger impact then you otherwise might want it to have.
But, what I do know is that lemon juice is a great natural acne scar reducer. I'd say try and start today if you can. Lemons are cheap, and you may even have a tree. Simply squeeze out the juice of a couple of lemons, dilute slightly with water and apply with a couple of fingers. Yes, it stings. Lemons are very acidic and so you must be careful with them. Garlic and tomatoes are the only other natural treatments I strongly urge you to perform a spot test with - it's so important!
As I mentioned above, consistency will be the key to getting fast results with lemon juice. Try and perform the treatment once a day, or every other day. I'd do it in the evening - this is because for reasons unknown the skin reacts much stronger to sunlight when you've just applied lemon juice - so please don't go out in the sun after putting lemons on your skin, because you'll get burnt faster! And burning the skin - especially skin that's been scarred - is especially bad. They're very natural, so lemons are a great way of bleaching the skin and helping to reduce the appearance of your acne scars.
